The Collaborative Center for Literacy Development, the Carol Lee Robertson Endowment, and the Kentucky Reading Association are co-sponsoring the sixth Kentucky Literacy Research Symposium, which will be held on May 13, 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky. The purpose of this event is to bring the foremost thinkers and researchers in the field of literacy research to Kentucky to address issues of national, state, and local importance. This event will serve as a springboard for future initiatives in which Kentucky is showcased and viewed nationally as a literacy "think tank" where scholars, researchers, and practitioners come together to critically examine and discuss issues in literacy research and practice.

Issue: Response to Intervention
Format: Each speaker will present their research and then share practical applications in the classroom as related to Response to Intervention (RTI). Cultural considerations, comprehension, adolescent literacy, and assessment issues relative to RTI will be addressed.
